After over six years of litigation and three successful appeals, partners Derek Schroth, Sasha Garcia and James Myers obtained the Fifth District Court of Appeal’s declaration the City of Ocala’s Fire User Fee is an unconstitutional illegal tax. The Fifth District Court of Appeal decided the City must refund millions of dollars in illegal taxes it imposed on its utility customers for over ten years. Read the Court’s decision.

On March 13, 2018, partner Zachary T. Broome was successful, on behalf of Clermont Chain of Lakes Foundation, in persuading the Clermont City Council to remove Lake Hiawatha Preserve from its list of possible sites for a new boat ramp to Lake Minneola and hopefully end the litigation Mr. Broome filed against the City.
