On March 13, 2018, partner Zachary T. Broome was successful, on behalf of Clermont Chain of Lakes Foundation, in persuading the Clermont City Council to remove Lake Hiawatha Preserve from its list of possible sites for a new boat ramp to Lake Minneola and hopefully end the litigation Mr. Broome filed against the City. On January 5, 2018, Derek A. Schroth, and associate attorneys, James A. Myers and Sasha Garcia, were successful, on appeal, in obtaining class certification on behalf of all those who paid “fire user fees” as part of their monthly water bill to the City of Ocala since February 20, 2010.
